Photofractional Rejuvenation is a two-in-one complete skin rejuvenation solution for acne scarring and ageing concerns related to skin tone and texture.
This unique technology combines Lumenis M22™ IPL Photorejuvenation with the ResurFX® non-ablative fractional resurfacing laser. What once required two separate treatment plans can now be addressed simultaneously, dramatically improving results while significantly reducing downtime for a more radiant and youthful complexion.
Photorejuvenation applies pulses (or flashes) of light to target irregular pigmentation and blood vessels responsible for facial redness to improve skin tone. The fractional laser stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin fibers in the deeper layers of the skin to improve acne scarring, skin texture, the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles.
Typically, about 3 sessions are needed to have visible improvement in the skin texture. Optimal results are typically achieved after 4-6 sessions at 4-6 weeks intervals. However, you may continue to see improvements for up to six months following the treatment.
In terms of downtime, immediately following treatment, patients typically experience some redness or swelling, depending on their personalised treatment settings. The swelling should diminish after a few hours and the redness will fade over the next few days.
