Claire Corcoran, RN, Nurse Manager

Our Nurse Manager, Claire, graduated from University College Cork after completing her general nursing training at Cork University Hospital. Driven by a deep passion for cosmetic aesthetics and dermatology, Claire pursued advanced aesthetic training and has since furthered her expertise with a Diploma in Dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians. She remains committed to staying at the forefront of her field through ongoing training and educational webinars.

In her role at the Institute, Claire supervises a team of seven staff members in the Cosmetic Suite, ensuring the highest standards of competence and care. She is dedicated to promoting skin health through personalised, scientifically-backed skincare solutions tailored to each individual's needs. Claire’s particular interest in laser treatments, especially CO2 lasers, reflects her commitment to helping patients regain their confidence and achieve remarkable results.

Claire’s relentless pursuit of clinical excellence and her focus on patient education make her an invaluable asset to the Institute. She is constantly seeking to optimise the performance of our equipment and integrate advanced techniques, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible care and outcomes.

Arlene McEvoy, RN

Arlene is one of the most experienced and skilled Laser Nurse Specialists in the country and has been a dedicated Laser Nurse Specialist since 2002. She originally trained in St. Vincent’s University Hospital and The Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital before pursuing a career in Dermatology and Plastic Surgery nursing. 

With comprehensive experience across all spheres of dermatology, Arlene is an excellent nurse advisor to our patients with regards to the entire repertoire of aesthetic and skin care treatments. 

Nicola Koik, CNS

Nicola is one of the few fully trained Clinical Nurse Specialists in Dermatology in Ireland. After completion of her nursing training at St. Vincent’s University Hospital and University College Dublin, and a BSc in Nursing in the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, Nicola started her career in Dermatology at St Vincents University Hospital in 2003.

She completed Dermatology Level 9 in the University of Stirling in Scotland in 2007 and was made a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Dermatology in St Vincents University Hospital in 2008. She is an expert in the management of complex chronic skin conditions, skin cancer treatment and monitoring, wound care, topical treatments and patient education. Nicola has also played a major role in the teaching and education of Dermatology nurses, ward staff, GPs, and medical students.

 

Joann Fowley, RN

Joann completed a Bachelor of nursing science at the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2012. Since qualification she has gained over ten years’ experience in acute hospital settings between Ireland and Australia.Throughout her career she has always had a keen interest in dermatology and wound healing, completing further education in tissue viability and wound management, before completing her advanced aesthetics training at Aesthetic Training Academy Ireland and the Institute of Dermatologists.

She has a particular interest in laser and light treatments for rosacea and acne scarring. Joann is passionate about delivering patient-centered care for all of her patients. She is a very calm, caring and empathetic nurse.

Emilia Mroz, RN

Emilia began her nursing career with a Bachelor of Nursing Science from the prestigious Jagiellonian University in Poland, graduating in 2012. With over ten years of experience as a General Registered Nurse, she has built a robust foundation in patient care and clinical excellence.

Her deep interest in skin care, anti-aging, and advanced treatments led her to start aesthetic training. She is currently working towards a Level 7 Diploma in injectables at Harley Academy, the UK’s leading institution for postgraduate training in aesthetic medicine.

Her commitment to providing tailored, patient-centered care ensures that each treatment plan is designed to achieve natural, confidence-boosting results with the utmost professionalism and personalized attention , helping patients look and feel their best. Emilia combines her extensive experience with a dedication to ongoing learning, staying at the forefront of aesthetic advancements to offer the highest standard of care.

Sophie Trainor, RN

Sophie is a highly experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a strong background in clinical research and children's nursing. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2016 and further specialized in Children’s Nursing at Dublin City University (DCU). Her career took a significant turn during the pandemic, when she joined the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland as a clinical research nurse. This role ignited her passion for evidence-based aesthetics, where she applied her expertise to clinical pharmaceutical and medical device clinical trials.

Sophie’s approach to patient care and aesthetic treatments is grounded in scientific research, and she is committed to providing treatments that are both safe and effective, rooted in the latest evidence. Her professional journey reflects a dedication to improving patient outcomes through a combination of clinical expertise and scientific innovation
