SUMMER SKIN TIPS

In summer, humidity is higher, meaning the skin can become less dry and produce more oils and sweat. The skin is also under more stress from heat-related dehydration. Megan Byrne, our lead facialist and the National Trainer for @biologique_recherche_ireland says there are a few changes we can make in our skincare routines to adapt to these weather changes.

▫️Start cleansing with cold water. Cold water will act as natural toner for the skin, calming areas of redness and helping to refine pores. Trust in your cleanser to remove dirt and make up. If you have an oily skin, and need a deeper cleanse in the summer, you might like to use a Gel or Acid based facial cleanser like @revisionskincare Brightening Facial Wash.
▫️Masking is a great boost for the skin in summer. If you have an oily skin type you will want to opt for a clay mask, to reduce excess oil and refine the pores. For dehydrated, dry or sun-sensitive skins, you'll want to opt for a creamy, oxygenating mask to repair and nourish the skin. If the skin is feeling very hot and bothered, store the mask in the fridge, then apply the cool, comforting cream in a thick layer. My favourites are Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant and Masque VIP 02.
▫️Do a Cryo massage. This can be done over a mask, or over your favourite hydration serum or oil. Using the BR Cryosticks, or even a home Jade Roller or two dessert spoons. Pop them in the fridge for a least an hour before you intend to use them. If using a mask as your base, emulsify the mask with water first for more slip. Wet the Cryosticks/Spoons and gently massage the face starting from the centre of the face, massaging out in long strokes towards the ears/hairline, following your natural contour of your face. Don't forget the under eyes to brighten and reduce puffiness. Massage for 5-10 minutes, or until the skin feels cool to the touch.
▫️If you don't have time for masking, you might like to try an overnight mask instead. These easy to use masks are applied at night in a thick layer and left to absorb in while you sleep. For a dry, dehydrated or sun-sensitive skin, apply Biologique Recherche Creme Masque Vernix.
Store in the fridge for an anti-redness action. For normal to oily skin types, try the Masque Creme Biofixine.
