A dermatologist-curated 6-step routine for rosacea-prone skin ready to introduce a retinoid — with the EltaMD UV Clear Tinted SPF 46 for sheer, skin-evening coverage alongside daily sun protection.

This advanced bundle pairs the complete EltaMD rosacea routine with the Clinical Skin Retinol + AOX Renewal Cream. The tinted SPF makes this the ideal choice if visible redness is a concern and you want light, buildable coverage as part of your morning routine.

What's in the Bundle

  • EltaMD Oil-In-Gel Cleanser — A low-lather, non-stripping formula that removes sunscreen, makeup, and impurities without triggering flushing or irritation. Use morning and evening.
  • EltaMD Skin Recovery Essence Toner — Calms and balances the skin post-cleanse without alcohol or acids. Supports the barrier before actives and SPF.
  • EltaMD Barrier Renewal Complex — Ceramides, squalane, glycerin, and niacinamide work together to repair and maintain the skin barrier — essential preparation before introducing a retinoid.
  • Clinical Skin Retinol + AOX Renewal Cream — A gentle retinol enriched with antioxidants to support skin renewal, reduce redness, and improve skin texture over time. Formulated to minimise irritation on sensitive and rosacea-prone skin.
  • EltaMD PM Restore Moisturiser — A peptide-rich overnight moisturiser that supports skin recovery and renewal. Layer over the retinol for added comfort and hydration.
  • EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46 (Tinted) — Mineral zinc oxide SPF with niacinamide and a sheer iron oxide tint. Calms redness, evens skin tone, and protects against UV-triggered flares — all in one step. The iron oxide tint also provides additional protection against visible light, which can aggravate pigmentation in rosacea-prone skin.

Your Routine at a Glance

Morning: Cleanser → Toner → Barrier Renewal Complex → UV Clear Tinted SPF 46

Evening: Cleanser (x2) → Toner → Retinol + AOX Renewal Cream → PM Restore Moisturiser

Introducing Retinol with Rosacea

Retinoids are one of the most effective ingredients for skin renewal, but they require careful introduction on rosacea-prone skin. The key is a well-supported skin barrier before you begin.

Start by using the retinol 2–3 nights per week, applying it after the toner and before the PM Restore Moisturiser. Increase frequency gradually as your skin adjusts. If you experience increased redness or sensitivity, reduce frequency and focus on barrier repair until the skin settles.

If you are unsure whether retinol is appropriate for your rosacea subtype, a consultation with one of our dermatologists is recommended before starting.

Tinted vs. Non-Tinted — Which Is Right for You?

Choose the Tinted SPF if visible redness or uneven skin tone is a concern and you want a light, natural finish without wearing foundation. The iron oxide tint also provides additional protection against visible light.

Choose the Non-Tinted SPF if you prefer a completely clear finish or plan to wear foundation on top. Both versions contain the same active ingredients and offer the same level of sun protection.

Key Benefits

  • Dermatologist-selected for rosacea-prone skin introducing a retinoid
  • Tinted SPF provides sheer coverage to neutralise redness
  • Barrier-first formulation — ceramides and niacinamide prepare the skin for retinol
  • Gentle retinol with antioxidant support to minimise irritation
  • Mineral SPF 46 — essential when using a retinoid
  • Free from fragrance, alcohol, parabens, and chemical sunscreen filters

  • Do I need to use a high percentage retinoid for it to be effective?
    Source thumb
No, a higher percentage is not necessary. It is more important to use a percentage that your skin can tolerate frequently, ideally every night.

"Now a lot of people are obsessed with the percentage thinking they have to keep getting a higher and higher percentage, but that's just simply not the case. It is the percentage that you tolerate most frequently."

  • Should I wait until wrinkles appear before starting an anti-aging skincare routine?
